Virtual Member Meet: Tours and Tranquillity

Event description: Join us (via zoom) as we take a virtual tour of some of our land and explore the topic of tranquillity.

Tranquillity is one of many components that come together to create the overall character of a landscape, and it is something that many visitors to the Lake District and Cumbria come to enjoy. Unfortunately, it is often misunderstood even by those tasked with protecting it.

As part of the event, we’ll talk about some of the issues we’ve encountered when looking at proposals that affect tranquillity, considering questions such as: What is tranquillity? Why is it important? How do we experience it? And how can we ensure tranquillity is taken into account in decisions that affect the landscape?
